Yeovil is a civil parish and a town in south Somerset in England. The city lies within the Yeovil Parliamentary constituency and the local district of South Somerset. It is 210 km from London, 48 km from Tounton and 64 km south of Bristol. It developed into a Centre of defense and aircraft industries in the 20th century, which made it an easy and open target for bombing in World War II where Westland Aircraft was the biggest employer. The primary base of the Royal Navy, RNAS Yeovilton (HMS Heron) is located several miles north of the town and is a major employer for the Ministry of Defense. Yeovil is also home to various Retail and manufacturing companies, and there are proposed plans for multiple regulation projects in the town.

The population of Yeovil in the 2011 census was 45,000 and was made up of 49% males and 51% females. The median and average population of the town is 41. Most of the inhabitants were born in Britain comprising 90.1% of the population. 1.7% were born in Scotland, 1.3% in Wales, 0.4% in Northern Ireland, 0.4%in Ireland, 0.8% in United States, South Africa, North Africa and India and 0.1% were born in the Philippines. 96.2% of the inhabitants of Yeovil speak English, and the other spoken languages are 2% polish, 0.2% Italian, o.2% Romanian while the rest 0.65 speak Portuguese, Filipino, Arabic, Spanish, Hungarian and Japanese. A significant part of the population in Yeovil practice Christianity as their Religion comprising of 66.4%. A quarter of the population confesses no religion at all while the Muslims make up 0.4% of the population. Buddhists are 0.2% while Jewish, Hindu, and Agnostic are 0.1% respectively. 52.5% of the population is married, an eighth live with a person of the opposite sex while only 0.7% have partners of the same sex. 7.7% are divorced or separated while 19.9% of the inhabitants are single and have never been in a registered relationship with members of the opposite sex. In the 2011 census, Yeovil had an urban population of 41,871 with the civil parish being home to 30,378 which is made up of Yeovil central ward, Yeovil East, and Yeovil West.
